Siemens expands Convergent Modeling in Parasolid to increase productivity with mixed geometric data formats

Siemens Digital Industries Software has updated Parasolid® software, its open software technology for geometric modeling. The latest release expands on the exciting potential of Convergent Modeling for applications such as generative engineering, 3D printing and reverse engineering with new tools for integrating previously incompatible facet and B-rep data formats within a single modeling session. This enhanced support for mixed models can help drive significant productivity gains by eliminating the need for time-consuming model conversion and allowing users to apply classic design techniques directly to facet models. NX Mixed Feature Modeling

New in the December 2020 release of Siemens premier 3D design solution NX, is Mixed Feature Modeling. We have created a demonstration that illustrates some of the exciting new capability now in the latest NX release. Here you will see an example of NX’s true mixed modelling environment which seamlessly brings together mesh and precise geometry. With NX, a designer can design with complete freedom when their design process involves the use of both facet and b-rep geometry. (There’s even a new “Replace Mesh of Face” command!) These updates increase the value of convergent generated geometry, via scan or CAE, for downstream use without reverse engineering.

NX Structure Designer.

Designers have historically faced major challenges around manual effort and a lack of automated tasks in the area of structure design. NX Structure Designer eliminates many challenges by automating tasks that normally require time and intensive manual effort, adding a rich library based on industry standards, and supporting structure reuse. This product helps you reduce design time, get products to market faster, and foster reuse for modular design. By being easy to use, minimizing clicks, and by automating features throughout the process to reduce workload, NX Structure Designer enables NX users to set up structural frames with ease in minutes.

• Easy-to-use structural frame modeling capability
• Rapid frame drawing assistant that creates 2D skeletons with minimal clicks
• 3D member placement that are automatically oriented based on user defined rules
• Corner treatments that are rules-driven and automatically added
• Ability to create accurate designs with specialty features such as structural corner stiffeners, end caps, and mounting feet

New in NX December 2020 Release

Algorithmic Modeling. Some designs are easier to describe computationally than to model manually. What if you could create highly customized designs without complex programming? Complex designs previously only possible through advanced programming can now be achieved through an intuitive and logic driven approach in NX. These types of robust features that are ideal for automation and design templates, can be created, stored and reused directly inside NX. This demonstration highlights some of the key capabilities now available in NX.

Cortona3D Technical Publication Solution

Cortona3D Viewer 3.0 for IOS with AR support and reworked UI is now available on App store

Cortona have released a new version of our app for iOS. From now on, Cortona3D Viewer for iOS allows you to upload and store content using iCloud, and view 3D-models in augmented reality on your iPhone or iPad.

Reworked UI based on standard iOS Document Browser: The updated app provides an excellent user experience by incorporating key Apple technologies for a document.
