What is so special about QForm?
QForm is famous for being the easiest to use of the metal forming simulation packages available.
QForm is a hybrid simulation program that uses FEM (finite element mesh) for the mechanical calculations and Voronoi cells for the thermal calculations. This produces faster and more accurate simulations.
The standard QForm license allows the use of all of the processing cores available on your computer. Simulations run very fast with full access to multiple processing cores and multiple simulations can be run efficiently in parallel at the same time.
The program uses the most modern programming techniques to fully and efficiently utilize modern computer hardware.
QForm users step format (*.stp) geometry files for the input geometry. Step files are much more accurate than STL files that other simulation programs use.
The mesh in QForm simulations is non-uniform and is generated automatically. The user does not need F.E.M. simulation experience to get accurate results so even novice users will get accurate results.
QForm allows advanced users “under the hood” to adjust mesh and program parameters to fine-tune simulations to their requirements.
QForm allows easy use of User Defined Functions that can run during the simulation or in the post-processor. Since the open-source programming language LUA is used for this functionality, no compiler is needed, just a text document with the code that is added to the simulation with a click of the mouse.
You can see simulation results and even playback the results up to the current calculation while the simulation is still calculating. This saves a lot of time since you can identify issues immediately as they happen without having to wait until the simulation finishes.
QForm can generate fully customizable reports automatically as well as animations, graphs, and pictures.
International benchmark tests (ICEB 2015) have shown QForm to be the most accurate and the fastest simulation program.
